the one when we went to the belmont

I'm in a black and white state of mind.

Friday we went downtown with R&T to celebrate my birthday. The Belmont is a restaurant/bar on West 6th Street. The food was really good and the atmosphere was awesome!

We stayed there for a little while after dinner and then headed down the "rowdy" side of 6th. T had never been so we had to check it out. She and I agreed that we would have been happy to just pull up a chair outside of a bar and watch the people. All we needed was someone to bring us our drinks and we would have been set for the evening.

We walked up and down the street and ran into some interesting characters along the way. One guy with a fro started singing "you've lost that lovin' feeling" (or something like that) to us and trying to give us a rose. Then there was the old (fat) homeless man sitting in a chair flashing his black bra at everyone who walked by.

We stopped at Coyote Ugly. I had never been in one and it was definitely an experience. I won't divulge all of the embarrassing details but let's just say, "it was my party and I danced 'cause I wanted to"

the one with the 30th birthday party

My brother turned 30 on Tuesday...Happy Birthday, J!

Last weekend C threw a surprise party for him at their house in San Antonio. If you live in the area and need some entertainment for a party or corporate function, Hold 'Em Casino Parties is the way to go. Our family has used them twice now and I HIGHLY recommend them.

Here are some pictures from the party...don't hold the quality against me; margarita machines and photography don't make a good combination.

So we hung out in the garage so when he came home and opened the door we were all standing there. He said later that his heart starting racing when he saw feet in the garage, he thought he was going to have to "throw down". Oops!

Here he is, relieved that we aren't burglars...

I was the sole member of the "Purple Chip" club but only because our friend Eric left and gave me his chips and Joseph went to play guitar hero and gave me his chips. I was rich!

After the casino party ended, the "real party animals" retreated to the media room for a little Guitar Hero/Rock Band (I'm not really sure which one we were playing but it was fun).

Tonight, we are headed to The Belmont to celebrate my birthday. Joe gave me a point and shot for my birthday so I can take with me EVERYWHERE I go! I'll post pictures of my mini-party later.

the one with the sparklers

I promised that I would make this a post in itself...I know it's a little late but well worth it.

So we went to R&T's for New Year's Eve. For most of the night we were pretty boring (and that's how we like it). A little wine, a little food, some game playing and watching some crazy australian guy trying to jump up some ramp on his bicycle at the Paris hotel in Las Vegas (I don't think that's actually a sentence but we'll go with it).

Anyway at midnight, I busted out 3 of the 50 leftover boxes of sparklers from our wedding (I think we'll be retired by the time we use them all) and we "played" with them in the yard. T and I backed out early because it was really cold and the smoke from the sparklers was eating our lungs. I felt a little anxious because last year we had a fire in our yard in San Antonio from the crazys next door shooting fireworks. All that said, the guys finished off the sparklers and T was able to grab her camera for the following shots...This is R dancing like he was "in da club" with his sparklers. In his words "What better time to act like a 5 year old?".

PRICELESS!

the one with the birthday party

Yesterday was K&T's Birthday Party. T had it at The Little Gym in N. Austin and it was a blast. The kids were able to run around crazy (with some structured play) before digging into some cookie cake and ice cream.

This is M. She was the youngest of the bunch and according to her mom, she was skipping her regularly scheduled nap to attend them party. I think she was pretty tired. I love how she is standing in the middle of the circle totally still while everyone/everything around her is a crazy/fast blur. Don't you sometimes feel like that?

i'm hooked on...

Getting my office in order and looking fab!

This is the current state:
Photobucket
This is the one room in the house that I have completely neglected and how ironic that it should have been the first room that I worked on considering I work from home. So now because of the chaos, I have been working at the dining room table. Why am I so lazy about getting this room done. I think it's because I have high expectations for it but I don't know where to start.

This is how I would like it to look:

Or maybe something like this...

I've got a looooong way to go and I will update you if it ever gets done. But for now I'm hooked on just getting it in working order.

the one with the new software

So I found this cool downloadable software online and I am going to test it out. It's kinda a little cheesy and definitely not the best way to show a slideshow but let's try it out.

These are some pics of the new house. These were taken just 3 days after we moved in so as you can see there is nothing hung on the walls or decorated but just for the sake of the slideshow and not wanting to bore you with the same old pics, here it is.
