the one where we went to the B&B

This weekend my mom and I went on our annual Bed & Breakfast trip. It's a tradition every year that we stay in a bed & breakfast (different one each year) and then do our Christmas shopping the day after. It's great bonding time without distractions.

So this year we stayed at a B&B in Dripping Springs. The drive out there is only about 30 minutes for me so along the way I had to stop and get shots of this old barn.

This is "Nell" in her bed of hay. She lives at the B&B and was happy to have found a cat lover in me.

On Saturday, we headed to San Marcos for a full day of shopping and I almost got all of my Christmas shopping done. With the move and holidays, birthdays and weddings mixed up in between, it was a good feeling to have the majority of it done. Should I wrap it all before we move?

the one with carrie & little big town

Carrie Underwood was here with Little Big Town for a concert on Halloween. We got tickets with my Dad and C and had a blast.

Here we are with Carrie, it was so great to meet her and be able to take pics with her, ha!

Little Big Town is one of my favs at the moment. If you haven't heard their music, check 'em out, they are fabulous! They rock it out.

Miss Underwood put on a great show. One of her costume choices was questionable but she is an awesome performer and her voice is incredible (even live).

the one with the halloween costumes

As promised...

Here's P getting dressed in the car. She did have a cute tiara to wear with her "princess" outfit but since birth she will not wear anything on her head. C does well just to get a barrette in her hair. Luckily, P capped off her outfit with a "prop"... a princess wand...can't forget to accessorize.

I don't usually do "artsy" pics like this but I just love the contrast of the black and white with her very pink dress.

I couldn't decide black & white or color on this one.

S is very chill, we just set her up on the hill in the middle of all the pumpkins and she was perfectly happy, granted she had her piece of hay.

Another one which I couldn't decide b/w or color.
I wasn't able to spend Halloween with my little angels but I got the next best thing.

the one with the pumpkin patch

C and I took the girls to the pumpkin patch in San Antonio last week. Our mission was two-fold...to get some good fall pics of the the girls and also to get some of them in their Halloween costumes. I will post the Halloween pictures another day as I am in the midst of learning a new editing software and it is taking me a little longer to process the pictures.

I just love S' little Ugg boots.

She was very interested in the hay.

See if you can spot the baby in the pumpkin patch, it's like Where's Waldo.

Photobucket
And P was having a blast walking around looking at all the pumpkins, humming and singing to herself. It was almost impossible to get a still shot of her but one good one is all you need.

Photobucket
We kept telling her to sit on the pumpkins, this is all we got.

And the two of them together? Well that's like trying to find a needle in this haystack. But C and I conquered the little people and I got two decent shots of them.

This is when we told her we were going to go to the car to change into her costume. Oh the Joy!

Photobucket
She could hardly wait...

Stay tuned for the pictures of them in the costumes. P was a princess and S was a sunflower.

the one with the first hot list

I'm taking tips from my blogger buddy Kristina in Toronto and making a monthly HOT LIST for the blog. Since I have a serious case of self-diagnosed A.D.D., maybe a list on my blog will keep me a little more accountable for my short term goals.

So here it is and, in the style of Kristina, at the end of the month I will re-posting the list with results. We'll start short...

November Hot List
  • Start packing for the big move.
  • Along with packing, I have promised Hubbo that I will really clean out and get rid of old stuff so that we are not moving random clutter yet again.
  • Get all Christmas shopping done. I don't want to be doing that while we move.
  • Get comfortable with my new photography workflow using Photoshop Lightroom.
  • Buy a new pair of good jeans. I loved one pair so much, I literally wore them out until Hubbo said I really shouldn't wear them anymore with the hole in the hiney.
  • Get all Family Holiday Portrait sessions done and edited including my own.
